There's a first time for everything..

The kids were at a friends playing while I was at an appt and when I went to pick them up Alie opened the door and Aiden was face down on their rug screaming!!! She just gave me a nervous face and said "he's been like this for 10 mins" I walked in and just to get a feel for what was going on. I had to physically pick up from the floor. He was bawling holding his arm. He wouldn't let me near it. Alie said they were just playing duck duck goose then she heard screaming. The kids relayed that Mason bumped into Aiden. She said "There's no way he broke it, he was rolling around on the ground crying after!" The room wasn't very big and it's duck duck goose for heavens sake so how hard could it have been. It was so hard to figure out if he was being crazy or really hurt. The longer it went on the more I thought something was wrong. Aiden doesn't usually take the time to be dramatic. My friends husband thought maybe the elbow popped out like it had with his kids before, he tried to straighten his arm to see, Aiden just screamed harder!!! I took him in to the Urgent care down the street, they didn't take our insurance :( So I drove down to the clinic where his doctor is... it was after hours and they didn't have an urgent care! UGH! I was lost on where to go with a child totally in pain. The lady at the desk told me to hold on, made a call and then sent me upstairs and told me the doctor was still there and would see him. They immediately got an X-ray and as soon as it showed up on the screen it was clearly broken. My heart dropped that I didn't act faster!  They gave him something for the pain and sent us off to a 3rd location because they did not do casts! It took about an hour to get there with traffic, it was such a long night (Seth was still on a plane traveling home from a business trip).  Aiden was such a trooper. The casting tech, Spencer, was awesome and loaded the boys up on supplies to take home. He made the experience so fun!
