Easter

Image
This was our first Easter here in Texas and luckily the East Bunny was able to find us.  Watching the kids race around the house in the morning to try and find their basket it my absolute favorite! It immeditely bring me back to my childhood. That's why I made my kids baskets out of an old ice cream bucket, because that's what our was every year, they would have our name written on it with a green sharpie. I love traditions. I love experience holidays through my children. I also love tuning ourselves into the true meaning and teaching our children what the true meaning is.

A not so fun Torando

Within 3 weeks of living in Texas the Tornado Sirens had gone off TWICE! ... and just for the record they are as eerie sounding as you'd imagine them to be! The first was due to a CRAZY storm but it past. The second happen after my mom had left for home and Seth was out of town on business. Worst timing right?! The kids were in bed and I was down stair watching TV.  It was quite but I noticed HUGE flashes of light coming in from my vaulted bay windows. You think you've seen lightening until you see lightening in the South. It's unreal! It lights up the entire sky and literally 'cracks'. I muted the TV and  looked outside. The sky was already dark but there was a blackness that looked like a blanket that was covering it, the lightening continued and I text one of the very few people that I even had a phone for being so new and asked if there was suppose to be a storm tonight. Being a sweet friend new and knowing I was new to the area and without Seth she called ...

Exploring Texas

We were so lucky to have my mom with us for the first few weeks of being here. She not only helped us get settled but we were also able to explore a few places with her as well. We even got experience our first Southern Storm! One of the best parts of moving to Texas is now my big brother is only 3 hours away! Our very first weekend they drive up to stay with us. It was so good to see them as soon after arriving. We're blessed to at least of one family member within reach. It was fun that my mom was still here as well so we could all be together... we just needed my sisters and we would have been set!
