Taking time out

Image
This little man has struggled the most with this move... transitioning into a new school towards the end of the year when this new school is at a completely different pace has done a number on his self confidence.. that and moving away from his very best friend Mace has not been easy. So today I dropped my to-do list and me and this handsome man went on a date to see the jungle book. I couldn't think of a better way to spend my afternoon.. in fact I couldn't think of a better way to spend my life than picking him up when he is down!

Little Miss becomes a Ballerina

Shay was so excited to start her first dance class which was funny because when we got there she wouldn't move. She was completely still for the first 20 mins and watched everyone else. Finally when they switched to tap shoes it broke her shell a tad and she started moving!

Grandma VV & Grandpa CL come to town

We were so excited to have Seth's parents come to visit us so soon after us moving here. Seeing family always helps fill our hearts. We decided to venture out to see the Fort Worth Zoo, we heard it was pretty cool and it most definitely was. I might even say it's one of my more favorite zoo's we've been too. It was even more fun having family to experience it with!

IZZY I never thought I'd see the day that we actually got a dog. The kids have wanted one for years but I just couldn't sign off on the hair and poop! Ah! When we found out we were moving to Texas we knew it would be another transition for the kids and we basically owed them. We thought this 'might' be a good time to entertain the reality of getting one. After we got in the accident and saw that Mason was really struggling with anxiety we decided that getting him an animal would be the best thing for him. We knew it would be good for all of the kids but we knew in our heart it's what Mason needed. If we were going to do this we wanted a really good dog.  We wanted a smaller dog (while I did, Seth wanted a big one), one that didn't shed much at all & was great with kids. Not much to ask right?! So hard finding a dog with our must haves. We went to shelter after shelter, visited with dog after dog. It was sad to see so many that needed a home. We went...

4 Years for Miss Shay

Image
Little Miss Shay She is truly my very best friend. My life forever changed the moment I saw her little button nose on the ultrasound. I walked down to my car in the parking garage after that appointment and cried. I said a very long prayer that if it was meant to be, that the birth mom upstairs who invited me to that ultrasound would choose me to be the mother of her baby girl because I was already in love. That prayer came true.... I've been able to spend every single day in the past 4 years with that beautiful, blue eyed, button nose little girl. Happy Birthday Shay-rella Your one of my most favorite humans ever Things about Shay -She has such a tender heart and is the one in her friend group that ties people together. She gets along with almost anyone and is good at sharing. -She's been in Joyschool this year and loved every single day of it. She's one smart cookie and loves the social aspect.

My baby is 4 When shay woke up on her Birthday she came downstairs and walked up to me in the kitchen... once I noticed her behind me I said "Good Morning, My Birthday Girl!!!" She responded with "will you still hold now that I'm 4?" ...little does she know I hope she always wants me to hold her or at least needs me in someway! I'm pretty lucky to be her mom or bestie (as she refers to me) For her birthday this year we were able to celebrate with Stephen & Debbie since they live close and they for her actually birthday my dad Greg happen to be passing through and was staying with us for a night we so had him and Jacee & Tucker. She was so excited with each gift. I absolutely love this age!
